I wasn't familiar with Richie Havens until today when I purchased the soundtrack to TAKING WOODSTOCK.
I haven't seen the movie but I like some of the artists on the soundtrack and Richie Havens was one of them. Very cool. The song on the sound track is FREEDOM.

I also liked VOLUNTEERS by Jefferson Airplane.
Glad you like it. Richie Havens always reminded me of Joe Cocker..another old favorite.
Did you like Assembly of Dust or at least that song by them?
